Due to the fact that there are Pride-Weekends all over the world and because of the latent homophobia of certain members of the bundestag, I finally decided to publish my June „Kunst-Stück“. This time it’s not a postcard, but my way of a digital protest against the discrimination of homosexuals. There are still countries where homosexuality is on the death penalty and in Russia a new anti-gay law has passed recently. Even in my country, the majority of the Bundestag decided against an equality of same-sex marriage in Germany, though the majority of the population and the Constitutional Court support this application. I do not know what unsettles me more, the re-degradation of homosexual couples to second-class citizens or the secrecy with which this law was overturned. It’s particularly cynical that this decision was made exactly 43 years after the Stonewall riots. What does this reveal about the observance of rights in our country?
